At ATC we believe in making a positive impact on the communities in our area by giving not only financial assistance, but also volunteering our time. We sponsor and support various projects close to our hearts, including a home for abandoned children, a school, a further education bursary and Fair Trade in South Africa.
Colleens Place of Hope
ATC African Travel Concept actively supports the Cape Town based home for abused and abandoned children, "Colleen's Place of hope" with regular donations.For the past 19 years the Naidoo family has lovingly and graciously opened their own home to take in any children in need of assistance, including babies abandoned at birth and some who are HIV positive.
Currently the household is made up of about 30 permanent/semi-permanent members including the Naidoo’s natural 4 children. A small portion of our company profit enables these children with unfortunate family backgrounds to stay in the stable and loving home environment of the Naidoo family while allowing the family to take in more children.
Volunteering staff members at ATC, take turns at least once a month to visit and bring them clothes, do some of the household shopping, assist in feeding the babies and participating in other projects as is needed in the home. By so doing we are able to oversee the continuous improvement of the project. Our clients and Newsletter readers have an opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping the future of these children.
The loving and nurturing familial environment provided by the Naidoo family as well as education is essential to ensure positive outcomes for these children. The aim is to enable them to develop into responsible, respectable, kind and productive citizens of the world. This goal cannot be accomplished by the Naidoo family alone. The Family welcomes any offers of assistance whether monetary or otherwise. Please contact ATC for further details on aid or if you would like to sponsor a child.
