Over two-thirds of Namibian roads are gravel. We recommend renting a 4×4. Because Windhoek – where most rental car companies are situated – is 45 km to the west of Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will need to arrange a transfer from the airport to Windhoek with your rental car company. Alternatively, please speak to us, and we will arrange a rental car and transfer for you. Rates on request.
Day 1
Windhoek – Swakopmund
Early morning Road Transfer from Windhoek to Swakopmund (duration +/- 4 hours.) Arrival in Swakopmund and check in to your hotel where you will be welcomed warmly and you can sink into cool comfort in the fresh coastal air. Tour discussion with your Guide about the next 7 days, hereafter you can enjoy an optional city tour, or get to know this quaint and lovely town on foot at your leisure.
Swakopmund is much loved by Namibians as a welcome respite from the inland heat. It is also popular amongst visitors for its old-world charm and relaxed atmosphere. Founded in 1892 during the period of German colonial rule, it served as the territory’s main harbour for many years. The distinct German colonial character has been well preserved and today many of the old buildings serve a useful purpose. The Woermann House (1905) now houses an art gallery and the Woermann Tower was used in earlier times to watch ships entering the harbour. Other old interesting buildings include „Die Alte Kaserne“, the „Hohenzollern Haus” and the Railway Station Building.

Day 2
Coastal Town Swakopmund
Enjoy a relaxing day at your leisure. In Swakopmund there are many activities to choose from, such as a Catamaran cruise in the Walvis Bay lagoon with oysters and sparkling wine served underway, the famous ‘Living Desert tour’, or a Quad Bike excursion into the dunes. Alternately, visit the Crystal Gallery to see the largest crystals in the world, or join a guided Fatbike Tour through town or into the dunes.
If you travel the short distance to Walvis Bay for a Boat Cruise, the road that runs between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund will offer a fascinating contrast, flanked on one side by the soaring yellow sand dunes of the Namib Desert and on the other by the sea and the cold Benguela Current. The mists that cover the dunes and beaches in the early mornings are equally as eerily beautiful as the wind-blown sands that drift over the dune ridges, driven by the on-shore winds in the late afternoon.
Dinner in the evening can be enjoyed at any one of Swakopmund’s renowned and very popular Restaurants.

Day 3
Swakopmund – Erongo Mountains Region – Kalkfeld
Another sumptious buffet breakfast precedes todays departure from the cooler coastal temperatures. You travel on in the safari vehicle past the fascinating Spitzkoppe Mountain area, en-route to the Erongo Mountains where you visit the Omandumba Farm and spend a few fascinating hours with the SAN Bushmen Tribe who live here. Spend a few memorable hours with the fascinating and fun-loving SAN and learn about their way of life, partaking in activities such as jewellery making with Ostrich Egg Shell, or shooting with a bow and arrow.
Finally, you continue on to your lodge for the night, arriving during the afternoon. Enjoy refreshing sundowners (not included) before a delicious dinner in the Boma.

Day 4
Kalkfeld – Etosha National Park Region
Today you sleep a little later, before a leisurely breakfast. Your lodge offers a number of fascinating optional excursions you can participate in, such as Game Drives or a visit to the fascinating Dinosaur Footprints where you can enjoy an easy Guided Walk of 1.5km, duration approximately 30 minutes (not included.) These excursions can also be undertaken in the morning, prior to your departure for your next destination.
Thereafter you board the Tour Vehicle once more and journey onwards, into the North to the renowned Etosha National Park region. Arrival and check-in at your beautiful, comfortable Lodge before you wander in the lucious green gardens which offer an extraordinary contrast to the bush savannah of this area. At your leisure, enjoy a swim in the cool sparkling pool, or sundowners as you watch the sun sink in the west.

Day 5
Etosha National Park
Shortly after breakfast you drive the short distance to the famous Etosha National Park where you spend the full day observing the fascinating and wonderful wildlife from the Tour Vehicle.
The Etosha National Park, consisting of 22 270 sq km of saline desert, savannah and woodlands, is one of the largest parks in Africa. Its definitive feature is the Etosha Pan, a vast, shallow depression of approximately 5000 sq km. For the greater part of the year, the pan is a bleak expanse of white cracked mud which shimmers with mirages on most days. Seeing vast herds of game with this eerie „great white place of dry water“ as a backdrop makes the Etosha experience unique. Approximately 114 mammal species are found in the park, including several rare and endangered animals such as black rhino and black-faced impala. Many bird species occur in the park too, of which approximately one third are migratory, including the European bee-eater and several species of waders.
Lunch can be enjoyed in the form of a hearty Lunch Pack while you are underway in the Park, or at one of the Camp restaurants, with a cooling swim in the pool. A few hours can also be spent observing the game and from the comfortable shady benches overlooking the camp waterhole. In the late afternoon, you return to your accommodation where the evening promises another beautiful sunset and delicious dinner.

Day 6
Etosha National Park Region – Waterberg Region
An early breakfast is followed by another 2 -3 hour excursion into the famous Etosha National Park once again, before you set off on the penultimate leg of your Namibian Safari, travelling via the towns of Outjo and Otjiwarongo to the Waterberg Plateau Park. Marvel at the ever-changing landscapes along the way, and the vast and majestic plateau that rises in the distance as you travel closer to the Waterberg.
Once checked in and time-permitting, there are some wonderful activities to participate in including Guided Walking Trails, a visit to the Cheetah Conservation Foundation or a rejuvenating massage in the Spa.
Rising some 200m above a surrounding sea of African bush and savannah, the Waterberg Plateau with its flamboyant brick-red sandstone formations and lush green vegetation presents an island of vibrant colour. The 40 549 ha park situated 60km east of Otjiwarong was proclaimed in 1972. It was originally created as a sanctuary for rare and endangered species found in the Caprivi, such as Roan and Sable Antelope, Tsessebe and Cape Buffalo. Today the park is home to some 25 game species, over 200 bird species, and vegetation which changes dramatically from acacia savannah at the foot of the plateau to lush-green sub-tropical dry woodland with tall trees and grassy plains at the top.
As the last day of your safari day draws to a close, watch a final sun set over the horizon before the African night sky is lit by a million stars.

Waterberg – Windhoek – Hosea Kutako International Airport
After breakfast you depart via Okahandja and Windhoek, travelling directly to the Hosea Kutako International Airport outside Windhoek. Once there, you check in for your onward-bound flight. Clients extending in Windhoek can be dropped off at their Windhoek hotel en-route, time permitting.
Directly north of Windhoek lies Okahandja, a town of great significance to the Herero people of Namibia, because it was the seat of their Chief Samuel Maharero. Every year in August thousands of Hereros gather here for a pilgrimage to pay homage at the graves of their great chiefs. Okahandja is also an important centre for woodcarvers from the north, as they sell their wares in the Market.
Once at Hosea Ktako Airport, bid your Guide and this beautiful and fascinating country farewell.

Mount Etjo Safari Lodge
Location: Kalkfeld Region, Cebtral Namibia.
Rooms: 23 rooms
Facilities: All rooms offer large, luxurious beds, a tea/coffee station, air-conditioner and heater, ceiling fan, safe and small fridge. The swimming pool and garden at the main lodge overlook a waterhole, where hippo, nyala and porcupine visit on a regular basis. It is the ideal opportunity to observe animals whilst enjoying a drink at the bar.
Special feature: Lion feeds after sunset are an exhilerating attraction whereby visitors have the opportunity to observe these big cats feeding from a close distance. Due to the black rhino breeding program, the lions are kept on a large but separate region of the sanctuary and are lured to a specific spot for feeding. This minimizes predation on black rhino calves, plus other rare species roaming the Sanctuary.

Toshari Lodge
Location: Nestled on an outcrop of dolomite rocks and under a forest of Mopani and White Seringa trees, at Toshari you will find the ideal tranquil atmosphere to relax in. Waterberg Guestfarm
Location: Situated at the foot of the majestic Waterberg Plateau in Northern Central Namibia lies the magnificent Waterberg Guest Farm, a 42 000 hectare paradise of natural African savannah.
Rooms: 4 double rooms and twin rooms / 5 bush bungalows
Facilities: All rooms have toilets, showers and basins (one of the rooms also has an additional bathtub). All rooms have their own private entrance leading out to a veranda. The spacious dining room is also located in the guesthouse, along with the comfortable lounge – the perfect spot to relax after a long day outdoors. In addition to the guesthouse, there are four ‘bush bungalows’ situated 160 meters from the main guesthouse. The truly unique bungalows are built according to the traditional Herero method. The main homestead offers a spacious dining room, library and a comfortable lounge. Next to the swimming pool is a traditional ‘lapa’ and bar, ideal for outdoor wining and dining. The wooden deck and floodlit waterhole are a popular after-dinner meeting place.
Special Features: Activities include visits to Namibia’s Cheetah Conservation Fund and the ‘little serengeti’ game drive, both of which are often combined into one educational and wildlife viewing experience. An additional and fascinating occurrence at Okosongomingo is the annual wildlife census.

Travelling with Children
- Parents travelling with children must provide an unabridged birth certificate which includes details of the child’s father as well as the mother for all travelling children. This applies even when both parents are travelling with their children.
