After an early breakfast at our extraordinary lodge, we will walk with the San (Bushmen) to learn about their culture, as they know the Kalahari Desert better than any other people and have survived the arid conditions for generations. They are hunter-gatherers, hunting with bows and arrows, catching small animals and eating edible roots and berries, and they eagerly demonstrate this to guests.
What makes this experience so phenomenal is the click language the San use to express themselves, and with the use of dramatic illustrations we will be able to communicate with the San and understand the interesting information.
We will now turn our focus to another change of scenery as we will continue south via Maltahöhe to our gorgeously situated lodge within the Namib Naukluft Park.
Arrive in time for lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon by the lodge’s lovely bubbling pool.

After breakfast, before we head towards Swakopmund, you can decide on the following optional activities (not included in the price) before experiencing the Atlantic Ocean on the scenic flight to Swakopmund.
Hot air balloon ride: At sunrise, in the oldest desert in the world, witness a spectacular hot air balloon inflation and embark on the flight of your life…. From the best platform, in the most romantic way, you float with the winds for an hour, over oceans of sand and mountains, endless views of shadows and lights. Your destination? The Sossusvlei dunes or the magnificence of the desert. Upon landing, you’ll come back to earth with a champagne breakfast, “Out of Africa” style, set up in the middle of nowhere. Your pilot will present you with a certificate of flight before you take a leisurely nature drive back to the pick-up point. It is an experience like no other, the experience of a lifetime.
From Sossusvlei, we pass over the diamond restricted area, where three old diamond camps can still be found, before reaching Conception Bay. After passing colonies of Cape fur seals, we see shipwrecks of the Eduard Bohlen (1909) 500m from shore and the Shawnee(1976) along the coast. We pass the Longwall (Namib Dunes) before reaching Sandwich Harbour, a wetland of international importance and protected by the Ramsar Convention. We pass the coastal salt mines south of Walvis Bay, which attract thousands of birds. Walvis Bay, Namibia’s main port city, is our next destination. Halfway between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, we pass the Langstrand Holiday Resort and the Dolphin Park Resort on our way back to Swakopmund.
We arrive in Swakopmund in time for a sumptuous lunch and an afternoon city tour.
Dinner is served at one of the three popular restaurants in Swakopmund at our hotel. All three restaurants can be reached directly from the Mole without having to enter the hotel itself.

Should the tides be against us and the sea cut us off from the lagoon, we will instead climb the mighty dunes and drive to a viewpoint. Included in this tour are some delicious platters, soft drinks, Namibian beer, juice and real filter coffee. A day to remember!
