An absolutely unique idea with some of the best food in Swakopmund, Tug is quite literally a must stop if you are looking for the best food. The restaurant is built on a stationary tugboat and it is headed up by some of the best chefs in the country. Tug has an amazing atmosphere and it has some of the best seafood in town.

While you are in town, a stop at Café Anton should definitely be on your list. It is mainly a coffee shop and it is located within the Schweizerhaus Hotel. In the capital city of Windhoek, you will find the perfect place to have a beer or two. At Joe’s Beerhouse, you can indulge in delicious venison cuts as well as other amazing grub. Sometimes it is the smallest towns that have the best places to eat. The bakery was opened in 2016 and it is so chic and so modern that it would look right at home in the country’s capital. Although it has the word bakery in its name, baked goods are not the only foods you will find when you are here. Some of the meals you can order here include open sandwiches, steaks, burgers, and pastas, and everything here is on par with international standards.

  1. Purple Fig Bistro, Grootfontein

Another small town packed full of flavour, in Grootfontein you will find the Purple Fig Bistro close to the middle of the town. There are plenty of light meals to munch on here, including wraps, toasted sandwiches, and salads, as well as pancakes, steaks and burgers. The meals are quite big and you can eat them while sitting under the fig tree, before heading back out on your Namibia tour.
