Namibia is becoming one of the biggest holiday destinations that Southern Africa has to offer and for those who are travelling here, there are some truly spectacular accommodation options. For the most part, Namibia holiday accommodation is included in the travel package that you opt for, and since we are so committed to giving our guests the best possible experience, a lot of our accommodation choices fall into the luxury category.
Some are built in the rocky hills around the Namib Desert, while others are situated looking out over the picturesque Fish River Canyon, but one thing remains true to all Namibia accommodation, and that is the fact that these places to stay are quite a part of the holiday experience as a tour itself. The accommodation is very much a part of the experience, and these are just some of the Namibia lodges that we use for our Namibia tours.
- Ai AiBa – The Rock Painting Lodge
Much like its name states, this lodge is located in an area famous for its San Rock Art. The lodge has a total of 10 chalets with thatched roofs and it has all of the facilities that you could possibly expect from a stay at a lodge, like a lounge, a bar and a restaurant. Ai AiBa also offers guests various activities including nature drives, guided walks to see the rock art, and there is a San Living Museum nearby.
- Barkhan Dune Retreat
Nestled against a rocky hill and with 7 chalets, 1 house, and 1 secluded self catered house, the lodge is a great place to stop for a few days during your holiday. The retreat has an infinity pool, a huge deck with specular views, and meals are included and served in a spacious dining room. This is also an eco-lodge, which is a big part of the appeal of a stay here.
- Beach Hotel Swakopmund
Swakopmund is Namibia’s most popular beachside town, and it has in recent years become a rather trendy place to stay. Unlike the other places to stay in Namibia, the Beach Hotel is within the town itself, just a 50 meter walk from the beach. The hotel has both flats and rooms, and there is a lounge, bar and restaurant onsite. Along with the hotel being a really great place to stay, there are all sorts of activities to be enjoyed in and around the area.
- Canyon Lodge
Built between the famed granite boulders close to the Fish River Canyon, the lodge is about 20km away from the canyon itself. The lodge comprises 25 natural stone chalets and it has all of the facilities you could expect from a luxury stay, like a restaurant, and a sparkling swimming pool. The lodge also has sprawling green gardens.
- Desert Hills Glamping
Looking for a more “rustic” kind of holiday? Glamping could be just what you need. Desert Hills Glamping features tents like you have never seen before. The tents are more like luxury hotel rooms, and they even feature their very own en suite bathrooms. Although it is a tent in the woods, the canvas that has been used to make the tent is able to keep the tent quite cool.
