Most Namibia safaris are done in the comfort of a 4×4 vehicle.
The roads are for the most part ungovernable without an off-road capable vehicle, but only those roads that are well outside of the urban towns and cities. So it makes sense to use a tough and rugged vehicle to get you to where you need to be. But if you are one of those sorts of travellers who likes to really get a feel for the place you are visiting, taking a trip on foot is probably high up on your list of travel requirements.
Namibia is home to all sorts of hiking trails. Some of the trails are quite easy to navigate while others pose a lot more of a challenge, and will also require a lot more time to cover.

If you want the focus of your Namibia safari to be on the hiking trails, you need to make sure that you book the most appropriate holiday package. If you can’t find one, you can always ask an agency to tailor a hiking tour for you.
